Press the "menu" button on your camera (top left). Put your camera in "M" and switch it on (or switch it on first then put it to M, either way). If your 550Ds firmware version is not 1.0.9 you will need to update it (this has nothing to do with the Magic Lantern firmware version, this is the Canon firmware). (so it will not have raw recording and the features that you probably want) The stable release can still be used however it has no new features.(we will still be using it to install ML though, but updating after) ML does not install onto your camera, it runs off your card and is loaded every time you turn your camera on.Never put a card into your camera that has the bootable flag on without autoexec.bin on the card.Your 550D needs to be running Canon firmware 1.0.9. You will need a standard SD card, SD / SDHC / SDXC.(ML can not be copied onto the card via plugging it in through the USB port) Make sure your battery is fully charged.Please read!!
